Post-doc Opportunity - Starting October 2011
Post-doc position in an exciting multi-disciplinary research program focused on materials research and applications of smart materials in textiles (functional sports textiles, technical embroidery). The scientific work brings together fundamental and applied research, including intensive interaction with industry partners.
Job Overview
Materials research, polymer chemistry and surface modification, composites and functional structures, implementation of chemical functions in textile structures, prototype testing and technology transfer.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Candidates must have finished doctorate / Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Science, Textile Chemistry, Materials Science / Chemistry, Polymer Science/ Chemistry, Solid-state Chemistry, Physics.
The research is in a highly interdisciplinary environment of chemists and materials scientists. Comprehensive knowledge in these areas is highly valued. The position involves a considerable amount of experimental laboratory work with a variety of processing and characterization techniques.
Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills and work, and work independently but cooperate well with others in an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment. Experience in project management is a plus.

Vacancies: Doctoral thesis / Diploma thesis
For interested students the Institute of Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics offers the possibility to perform research work for the doctoral thesis or the diploma thesis. The main field of research is within the topics of applied research and fundamental research in textile chemistry and textile physics. Corresponding to the research performed in the Institute each theme will also contain parts that are of relevance for future industrial application.
