To study the interaction between cutter and rock mass, wih emphasis on fragmentaion mechanics.

2. Aims

• To analyse and to establish relationships between cutter parameters and rock material parameters.

3. Methoden / Methods:

• Analytical solutions of rock fragmentaion under cutters.
• 3D numerical modelling and cutting and fragmentaion

4. Execution:

• Developing rock dynamic fracturing solutions.
• Performing numerical modelling.
• Proposals for improvement of existing models/contributions for a new model.
