Qualification profile
Graduates
- have acquired experimental skills in hot-stage microscopy and complementary analytical methods
- know how to implement hot-stage microscopy into experimental strategies in the solid-state characterization of drug substances and other materials
- will gain a deep understanding of crystallization processes (nucleation, crystal growth)
- know the nature of various solid-state phenomena, including polymorphism, solvates, hydrates, cocrystals, mesophases and phase transformations
- know the thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of crystal forms
Requirements
- The training will particularly benefit those who deal with preformulation studies, polymorph screening, crystal engineering, co-crystallization and other materials science aspects of small organic molecules.
