Benedikt Schäfer (Department of Internal Medicine I, Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology), am a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist and an associate professor whose research aims to advance our understanding of genetic liver diseases, improve outcomes in liver transplantation as well as enhance the management of patients with iron deficiency and iron overload disorders.
Johanna Gostner (Institute of Medical Biochemistry), a biochemical toxicologist who investigates the dynamics of signalling processes and metabolism in response to the exposome and disease to uncover underlying mechanisms.
Nikola Komlenac (Institute for Diversity in Medicine), a psychologist who critically examines social norms that undermine social well-being and disadvantage some people while privileging others, in order to advocate for more equitable opportunities and inclusive practices in social and healthcare contexts.
Lena Tschiderer (Institute of Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, Medical Statistics and Informatics), a mathematician who applies epidemiological methods to better understand the development and progression of cardiovascular disease.
