Jim Grote has been a development officer for various charities in Louisville, Kentucky for over 20 years. He has also been an adjunct professor in business ethics and philosophy at the Abbey of Gethsemani, Indiana University Southeast, Saint Catharine College, Spalding University, and the University of Louisville.

A Certified Financial Planner, Jim has published widely in the areas of ethics, financial planning, and spirituality for Bloomberg Wealth Manager, Business Ethics Quarterly, The Catholic Worker, Church, Cistercian Studies Quarterly, Contagion, Cross Currents, Financial Advisor, Fund Raising Management, Journal of Financial Planning, The Merton Annual, MorningstarAdvisor.com, Planned Giving Today, Research in Philosophy and Technology, Spirituality, and Technology and Culture.

He is the co-author (with Carl Mitcham) of Theology and Technology (Univ. Press of America, 1984) and co-author (with John McGeeney) of Clever as Serpents: Business Ethics and Office Politics, published in 1997 by the Liturgical Press and in 2002 by LIT Verlag and Druck-und Verlagshaus Thaur
