Mail Announcement to all users of UIBK HPC Systems

Dear users of the Leo1 cluster,

As indicated on the HPC main page (http://www.uibk.ac.at/zid/systeme/hpc-systeme/), the Leo1 compute cluster has been a legacy system for some time now, and usage has been low. The time has come to decommission Leo1. Here are the details:

  1. We plan to take Leo1 offline on 14 August 2015 at 10:00 AM. All operation will be terminated.

  2. Data on the Leo1 HOME and SCRATCH directories will not be immediately affected and can be accessed on the Leo3 and Leo3e login nodes under /mnt/leo1/home and /mnt/leo1/scratch/$USER (automounted). Please do not use these areas for productive work, because eventually data will be deleted as well.

Visit http://www.uibk.ac.at/zid/systeme/hpc-systeme/announce-leo1-jul-2015.html to read this message and any possible updates.

The Leo1 cluster will make room for a new cluster made from reused Leo2 components for teaching and experimentation purposes. Watch out for news.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need assistance with this transition.

With kind regards, your ZID HPC team.
