Payment terms and cancellation conditions for university courses at the University of Innsbruck

1. Registration

Registrations for university courses at the University of Innsbruck must be completed in written form or online within the respective registration deadline. Registrations are binding. The number of spaces available is limited. Registrations that fulfil the requirements set out in the course plan will be accepted with on a ‘first come, first served’ basis according to the date on which each registration was received. This applies to all university courses with the exception of university courses for which special admission criteria, which must have been made available in advance, apply. Successful applicants will receive an e-mail confirming their registration. Provisions on a minimum number of participants apply to each university course.

2. Participation fee and payment conditions

The participation fee for each programme and/or each semester will be listed separately. The participation fee must be transferred to the bank account of the Coordination Office for Postgraduate Continuing Education within seven days of receiving the confirmation e-mail/invoice. The participation fee includes the cost of learning materials. Any further services included in the fee will be listed in the description of the respective course programme. All participation fees are VAT-free.

Admission to the course is only completed once the first instalment (in the case of course programmes lasting several semesters) or the full participation fee (in the case of course programmes lasting one semester) has been received. Failure to pay the participation fee or a delay in payment will result in the participant being barred from taking part in the course.

3. Cancellation conditions

Participants unable to take part in the course must cancel their registration in written form. They will be subject to a cancellation fee of 25% provided the registration has already been received and processed. There will be no refund of the participation fee for registrations cancelled after the registration deadline. Participants who fail to attend the start of the course will be charged the full participation fee. In such cases it is possible to nominate a replacement participant at no extra cost.

4. Cancellation of lectures / programmes and absence of individual lecturers

The Coordination Office for Postgraduate Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel individual university course programmes which do not have the minimum number of participants. In such cases any participation fees that have already been paid will be refunded in full.

No refund will be provided to participants who, for whatever reason, do not complete the course programme. This also applies to participants who are excluded from a programme as a consequence of violating course provisions.

In cases where a lecturer is unable to attend, the Coordination Office for Postgraduate Continuing Education will do its best to find an adequate replacement. However, this is not considered grounds for a partial refund of the participation fee.

There will be no refund for costs (e.g. travel expenses, parking tickets, time loss) arising from date changes made during the course of the semester.

5. Certificates of successful completion and participation
