Learning Objective
International university applicants are prepared for passing the supplementary examination to prove their German language skills. The supplementary examination is taken within the scope of the University Preparation Programme. Graduates acquire the German skills required for successful study Progress.
It is aimed at introducing the graduates to the most important contents and requirements of the Austrian school leaving certificate and to establish the required equivalence of their school leaving certificate with a domestic one.
Admission Requirements
The University Preparation Programme is open to persons, who have been admitted to a regular university study programme by the rectorate of the University of Innsbruck under the condition that they
(a) pass the supplementary examination to prove sufficient knowledge of the German language and
(b) possibly one or several supplementary examinations in other subjects before they start the regular university study programme.
Modules
The university preparation programme starts from level A2.
Module: German – Independent Language Use (Target Level B1+)
Language skills corresponding to level B1+. Text interpretation strategies and techniques for independently improving in particular receptive skills. Imparting of basic linguistic actions for studying.
Module: German – Independent Language Use (Target Level B2 / B2+)
Language skills corresponding to level B2 in the field of productive skills and B2+ in the field of receptive skills. Imparting of complex linguistic actions for studying, introduction to writing scientific papers.
Newcomers fill in the online placement test to assess their language skills (https://bit.ly/placementtest_epd). Persons, who have already successfully passed a module, advance to the next-level module.
