Duty to inform for the data collection form

The personal data collected from you will be published on the University website for the purpose of introducing the newly appointed professors and lecturers at the University of Innsbruck and will also be used to introduce you at academic events.

The University of Innsbruck has a legitimate interest in presenting itself and its lecturers to the public. Not least because it is important for the reputation and the position of a university who teaches at it. Especially as a professor or professor emeritus, you have a certain external impact which is related to the University of Innsbruck and which we would like to present accordingly as such. Especially if you are newly appointed to the university.

Otherwise, the University of Innsbruck would suffer disadvantages in the national and international comparison of universities. Further, the information about the subject areas you represent would be difficult to reach for addressees of the university.

The data will be stored and processed by the Office for Public Relations at the University of Innsbruck exclusively for the stated purposes. All information will be processed for the duration of the aforementioned purposes and deleted upon expiry of any limitation periods and statutory retention periods. A passing on to third parties or a third country does not take place.

Since the data are processed on the basis of the legitimate interest, you have a right of objection if you have reasons arising from your particular situation which speak against such processing.

In principle, you have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data transferability and objection. Therefore please contact us.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection claims have otherwise been violated in any way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the responsibility of the data protection authority.
