Synopsis:

Biogenic waste should be converted efficiently into secondary raw material and energy sources by a cascading approach. The proposed processes will complement existing biogas plants with upfront treatment step in order to produce polylactic acid (PLA) and other bioproducts. The aim of the project is the assessment of the impacts on the energy efficiency of such an up-front treatment step integrated in existing biogas plants.
