How to register for the degree examinations

What do you have to know?

 

  • You have to register at the Examination Office (Prüfungsamt) within the stated period of time.
  • Subsequently your eligibility to sit the examinations is checked at the Department of Translation and Interpretation Studies. 
The procedure

Complete the examination form (Prüfungsprotokoll), listing the credits obtained for all courses required for the examinations.

The appropriate forms are available in the folder next to the copier on the fourth floor or on the department’s website. You have to submit the examination form, the credits and confirmation of registration (Studienbestätigung) at the department within the period of time announced on the information board next to the secretary’s office. Note: The credit certificates have to be arranged according to the sequence on the examination form.

 

Last-minute registration

Credits from the current semester which are a requirement for the examination can be handed in by the last Thursday before the examinations start at the latest (except for the examinations in November).

 

Final steps

  • Take the duly checked and stamped examination forms with you to the written examinations. The supervisors will inspect them.
  • You have to keep the examination form until the last written examination.
  • When you have passed the written examination, make an appointment for the oral examination with your examiner.
  • Right after the oral examination the examiner has to submit the oral examination form and the written examination papers to the Examination Office in an envelope. The forms for the oral examinations are available in the folder next to the copier on the fourth floor or on the department’s website.
