About us
The Department for Theory and Future of Law was founded in 2019 as the tenth institute of the Faculty of Law at the University of Innsbruck.
Future-oriented
Teaching and research at the Institute focus on legal issues arising from new developments in society, politics, technology and the economy.
Interdisciplinary
The Institute serves as an interface of the Faculty of Law for the study of emerging legal issues from the perspective of various legal disciplines. We focus specifically on theoretical, philosophical and methodological questions of principle.
Interdisciplinary
We pursue interdisciplinary approaches in research and teaching. The Institute forms a link between the Faculty of Law and other faculties, research areas, research platforms and research centers of the University of Innsbruck.
International
We attach particular importance to international cooperation and networking. The Institute’s members are involved in different international projects and publish their research results in internationally recognized journals.
