Logo of the PEP group at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Innsbruck University. Plasma and Energy Physics

Research by the Plasma and Energy Physics (PEP) Group at the University of Innsbruck covers fundamental topics of general plasma theory as well as modelling and simulation of fusion and laboratory plasmas, with particular emphasis on plasma-wall interaction and energetic ion physics in toroidal magnetic confinement devices.

The PEP group belongs to the Institute for Theoretical Physics, is part of the Research Center "Ion and Plasma Physics / Applied Physics" and also participates in the Focal Point "Scientific Computing" of Innsbruck University. In addition the plasma physics research of the group is embedded in and supported by the European fusion programme via the Association EURATOM-ÖAW.
