Open positions

The Mathematical Quantum Physics group (led by  Gemma De las Cuevas) is currently inviting applications for 2 PhD student positions. The work will be at the intersection of mathematical physics and quantum many-body physics. More specifically, we will investigate the surprising ways in which the concept of positivity (and thus of convexity) interacts with the multiplicity of systems, as in this lithograph by M. C. Escher.

The gross salary will be 38 550 EUR per year, for four years. The positions are funded by the Stand Alone Project of the FWF with the title "Positivity structures in quantum many-body systems".

Candidates must have completed an excellent Master Thesis in Physics or Mathematics (or both) and must be highly motivated. Applications of women are encouraged. Applicants should send their CV, their degree's grades, a reference letter from their Master Thesis supervisor and a short motivation text to at their earliest convenience. The earliest starting date is January 1, 2020.

If you are interested in joining our group for a Master Thesis, and you are very motivated, please write an email with your CV, your grades and a short motivation text to
