Location: Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria, and Lenzing, Upper Austria, Austria

Starting in January, 2002, a  Christian-Doppler-Laboratory for applied and basic research in cellulosic fibres has been established at the Research Institute of Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics, Dornbirn, Austria. We are looking for a Diploma student as  research assistant who are keen to work in a multidisciplinary environment between university and industry, and who enjoys seeking novel approaches.

Your working area:
"Structural Properties Influencing Physics, Chemistry and Performance of Cellulosic Fibres"
Your Topic: Characterising structure and structure formation in man-made cellulosics (mainly Lyocell) by a range of physico-chemical methods

Your Tasks:
Identification of appropriate characterisation methods (literature, initial experiments)
Experiments in fibre production
Coordinating and evaluation of experiments in cooperation with industrial and academic partners in Austria and Europe

Your Profile:
Your background is chemistry, physics, or materials science
You have a strong interest in material structures and physical methods
You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams
