SpielRäume
Child-care facility offering flexible child-care by the hour
Within the scope of a Bachelor’s Thesis the children of the SpielRäume have got a new home. At the start of October they moved into the new Family Service building. Parents were taken into consideration as well. The new rooms offer a place for learning and working, for information exchange and advising.
In the SpielRäumen facility children of students and employees at the University of Innsbruck from 6 months right up to the completion of their 10th year, can be looked after by qualified experts on an hourly basis. This is an ideal possibility to have children looked after by educationally trained personnel while attending lectures or seminars.
Annually at the start of the semester - on the Open Day - interested parents have the opportunity to learn all about the offers of the flexible care institution, visit the rooms and get to know the personnel. Moreover, you can register your child(ren) for the SpielRäume on these days and arrange dates for the free familiarisation week.
For the 2018 summer semester the Open Day takes place on 26 February 2018, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Note: Information talks and familiarisations can be arranged any time, also during the semester.

Online-Babysitter Exchange
The Children’s Office offers an internal and free online babysitter exchange. Students can obtain a list with babysitters on request either by mail or they can pick it up at the Family Service.
This service enables parents a fast and uncomplicated means of contact with babysitters and also creates the opportunity to overcome a shortage of carers in the short-term.
