Florian Schreck’s research is focused on experiments with ultracold quantum matter. These experiments enter the quantum world by cooling gases to the nanokelvin temperature regime. During his PhD, he and his colleagues at the E.N.S. in Paris studied Bose-Fermi mixtures of lithium quantum gases and were able to create a matter-wave bright soliton.  In the team of Rudi Grimm at IQOQI, he is studying strongly interacting Fermi mixtures of lithium and potassium. With his own research team, he was able to create the first Bose-Einstein condensate of strontium. Based on this breakthrough, his goal is now the creation of a quantum gas of RbSr molecules and the study of exotic forms of quantum matter.
