We need you!

Dear children, dear teachers!

Happy anniversary, Ötzi: In autumn 2021 30 years will have passed, since Ötzi, the Iceman was famously found frozen in the Italian Alps in 1991. An anniversary which due to current circumstances we cannot bring to you, share with you, and discuss with you in your classrooms.

Nevertheless we plan a small celebration (whether we can come together for that occasion or whether this will happen on the net, remains to be seen). And this is where you all come in. We would be delighted if you could help us by letting us know:

  1. What is it that fascinates you about this discovery?
  2. How do you imagine the Iceman? What happened on his last day?
  3. Which questions would you have for scientists and scholars?

Send us an email, a letter, or a video- or audiomessage.

  • Send us, whatever intrigues and interests you. We will collect your questions and happily answer them or pass them on to the experts or the finder, Erika Simon.
  • Use your creativity for your theories about Ötzis life, home, family, death: you can draw, paint, sketch, portray or craft something, and if you like you can also include your explanation.
  • Who among you prefers to write, can put his/her story onto paper, a thrilling murder mystery, a day in the life of Ötzi, etc. or make a comic strip about the crime that happened all these years ago.
