Grants of the Russian Center for the promotion of young scientists in Russia or at the University of Innsbruck – Tranche of 2020

The Russian Center of the University of Innsbruck awards grants amounting to a maximum of 400 euros for travel costs to and costs for overnight stays in Russia or Innsbruck, respectively, to young scientists of the University of Innsbruck and its ten Russian partner universities*.

Prerequisites:

  • Studies (advanced Diploma or Master program, PHD program) or Employment (Postdoc or position with Qualification Agreements) at the University of Innsbruck or one of its ten Russian partner universities*
  • Active conference participation (lecture or presentation) in Russia or at the University of Innsbruck or a specific research project, which calls for contact initiation or conducting short-term scientific work at a university or similar research institution (libraries, archives, research centers etc.) in Russia or at the University of Innsbruck

Guidelines for 2020:

  • Grants are not awarded to participants of student excursions, summer schools, language stays or internships.
  • Only expenses, for which original receipts are submitted, can be refunded. Therefore, only travel costs (flight tickets economy class or train tickets 2nd class) and/or costs for overnight stays are refunded.
  • Billing must take place within one month after the return date and include a short report (app. 2,000 characters) in German or English as well as a letter of acknowledgement, signed by the host university or institution.
  • We attach great importance to promoting Russia-related research or activities with Russian cooperation partners from all scientific areas! Applications from natural scientific, technical and social scientific disciplines are particularly welcome.
  • The quality of the application determines the confirmation of the grant.
  • For Incomings to Innsbruck: Upon application confirmation, we offer visa support by providing an invitation for the duration of the stay in Innsbruck. However, we cannot assume responsibility for visa applications and the provision thereof.

The application for the promotion of young scientists, including a description of the research proposal, is to be completed and submitted online in German or English. Furthermore, it is to be printed, signed manually and sent as scan per email along with all other necessary documents (conference invitation or letter of confirmation of academic supervision) to the Russian Center of the University of Innsbruck not later than one month before the trip.
