Appointment of Heiner Schumacher
Since 1 October 2020 Heiner Schumacher has been Professor of Experimental and Behavioral Economics at the Department of Public Finance. He graduated in Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, in Mathematics from University Hagen and received his PhD in Economics from the University of Mannheim. Prior to joining the Department of Public Finance at Innsbruck he has held positions as Assistant Professor at Goethe-University Frankfurt and Aarhus University. In addition to his professorship in Innsbruck he is also Associate Professor at the department of economics at KU Leuven. He was a visiting scholar at Boston University and the University of California San Diego.
The research of Heiner Schumacher focuses on questions in the fields of Game Theory, Contract Theory and Behavioral Economics. The results of his research have been published in leading economics journals, such as Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Public Economics and RAND Journal of Economics.
