Forschungsinteressen

Die kognitive Wissenschaft des Schlussfolgerns und Entscheidens beschäftigt sich mit Situationen, in denen die Informationen, die wir für unsere Schlüsse zur Verfügung haben, unsicher und veränderbar sind. Z.B. kann unsere subjektive Wahrscheinlichkeit für "Wenn es regnet, dann wird der Ausflug abgesagt" unterschiedlich sein, je nachdem, welche Informationen wir zum Wetter und zum Ausflug zur Verfügung haben. Hierbei werden methodische Werkzeuge aus experimenteller Psychologie, formaler Logik (vor allem probabilistischer Logik) und komputationaler Modellierung (vor allem Bayessche Ansätze) herangezogen.
