Im ersten Soziologie#Webcast diskutieren die Juristin Caroline Voithofer, der Soziologe Bernhard Weicht und die Politikwissenschaftlerin Julia Mourão Permoser über den gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert von selbstbestimmtem Altern und Sterben sowie über die Rolle von Moralpolitik und Rechtsprechung bei ethischen Grundsatzdebatten. Die Moderation übernimmt Kristina Stoeckl vom Institut für Soziologie.

Heimunterricht ist im Jahr 2020 aufgrund pandemiebedingter Schulschließungen für sehr viele Menschen in Österreich zu einem wichtigen Thema geworden. Die Debatte über Heimunterricht rührt an zentrale gesellschaftliche und bildungspolitische Fragen, wie die Aufteilung der Erziehungsarbeit innerhalb der Familien, die Effizienz von Distance-Learning, und den Bildungsauftrag der öffentlichen Schule. In diesem zweiten Soziologie#Webcast diskutieren die Bildungswissenschaftlerin Barbara Herzog-Punzenberger, die Ethnographin Silke Meyer und die Soziologin Kristina Stoeckl über die aktuellen Herausforderungen und soziologischen Hintergründe von Homeschooling. Die Moderation übernimmt David Furtschegger, Doktorand am Institut für Soziologie.
