A Comparative Analysis of Crisis Communication by Governments and Heads of State

 

Doctoral Student

From 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2025, 30 hours/week.

 

Responsibilities

The doctoral student will support the project team in collecting data, developing the coding scheme, and coding material as well as in organizing workshops and publishing the findings of the projects. We expect the student to write her/his PhD thesis on a research question related to the topic of the project.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master degree in political science or a related discipline (completed by 30 September 2021)
  • Solid skills in quantitative methods for the social sciences
  • Proficiency (C1) in English and intermediate command of German (B1), additional languages are an asset.
  • Willingness to take further training in analytics methods and software (including R)
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Social competence

 

Salary

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for the position of a doctoral student is 2,237.60 EUR per month (incl. tax, 14 times/year).
