Project 08:
Chromatin remodeling mechanisms in neurogenesis and neurological disease

Alexandra Lusser

Several ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling factors (CRFs)play important roles during development and have been linked to a wide variety of diseases including different types of cancers and genetic disorders. We will perform a molecular and biochemical characterization of ATP-utilizing CRFs in healthy and diseased brain. We will further explore a potential role of the CRF CHD1 in neurogenesis using appropriate molecular tools developed in our lab.
