Assoz. Prof. Dr. Markus Ganzera

Dr. Ganzera obtained his doctorate in natural sciences at the University of Innsbruck, and spent more than 3 years at the University of Mississippi, Oxford, USA as post-doc. In 2002 he returned to Innsbruck, finished his habilitation in 2006 and was promoted to Associate Professor 2012. He has more than twelve years of experience in the isolation and analysis of natural products (e.g. terpenes, phenolics, alkaloids and lectins), using a multitude of analytical techniques like HPLC-MS, HPLC-ELSD, CE-MS, CEC and GC. He is familiar with all aspects of chromatography (preparative and analytical), method development, validation as well as the quantification of (small amounts of) compounds in complex matrices.

Dr. Daniel Remias

Dr. Remias studied biology at the University of Innsbruck, and finished his PhD 2007; the title of his thesis is "Comparing ecophysiology of snow algae from alpine and polar regions". Accordingly, he has been working with extremophilic microalgae for many years. His experience includes their sampling, identification (light microscopy), strain cultivation and the setup of stress exposure assays.

Apothekerin Anja Hartmann

Mrs. Hartmann studied pharmacy in Würzburg / Germany and is an approved pharmacist. She started her PhD programm in April 2012, and is currently involved in the cultivation of diverse algae and their phytochemical / analytical characterisation.
