The University of Liège has pursued an active policy to promote Open Access to scientific information for more than ten years. In 2007, the University of Liège decided to establish an institutional repository and introduced an Open Access mandate for the self-archiving of scientific publications in the university's repository. A year later, ORBi (Open Repository and Bibliography), the institutional repository of the University of Liège, was officially launched.
Paul Thirion was substantially involved in the implementation of the mandate and the establishment of the repository, which has become an integral part of the scientists' research documentation.
The guest lecture provides an opportunity to discuss possibilities and strategies for filling an institutional repository as well as to discuss what role the green route of Open Access will play in the future.
All interested are welcome!
