- Next semester we will again offer the successfully launched elective packages
Students in a Bachelor's programme can take the elective package Media & Communication (30 ECTS). Students in a Master's programme can choose the elective package Media Practice (30 ECTS).
- Call for Papers: GfM Annual Conference at the University of Innsbruck
The conference registration for the annual conference on "Knowledge Ecology" to be held in September 2021 is open. The conference will take place from 22.09. to 25.09.2021. It will be organised by our department.
- Media Summit 2021 rescheduled
The international Media Summit in Lech, Arlberg has been rescheduled to the 02-04 December 2021.
- Master students organise expert discussion panel for the Media Summit in Lech (15-17 April)
From 02 to 04 December, the University of Innsbruck will participate for the first time at the international Media Summit in Lech/Arlberg with its own expert discussion panel on the topic "Generation Protest? - The challenges for politics and the media". Dr. Natascha Zeitel-Bank (coordinator of the elective package "Media Practice") is leading the preparations with the students, which will focus on the interplay between politics and media with a focus on digital networking.
- Retirement of Prof. Günther Pallaver
With the start of the winter term 2020/21, our long-time head of department and its co-founder, Prof. Günther Pallaver, retired. Numerous colleagues
and friends have now honored Prof. Pallaver's academic work in the Festschrift "Crossing Borders - Passaggi di confine - Grenzgänge" with contributions from political science, history and communication studies.

Students in a bachelor program may attend the elective study package Media & Communication (30 ECTS). For students in a master's program, we offer Media Practice (30 ECTS).
- Media Day 2020 cancelled
The Media Day 2020 had to be cancelled due to the current situation (Covid-19).
- The University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of a University Professor of Media and Communication studies with a focus on Democracy at the Department of Media, Society and Communication.
