Curriculum vitae:

Steffen Zimmermann studied Business Administration at the University of Augsburg in the specialized fields of Information Systems, Financial Engineering and Economics of Information Systems. After his studies, he was doctoral student and research assistant at the Department of Information Systems Engineering & Financial Management of Prof. Dr. H. U. Buhl and received his doctor's degree in February 2008 on the topic of "Value based IT Portfolio Management". During this time, he was the head of a research group and he applied successfully for a publicly funded fundamental research project at the German Research Foundation. Simultaneously, he worked as consultant on several business projects (e.g. at MLP AG and WestLB AG). Since March 2009, he works at the Department of Information Systems, Production and Logistics Management at the University of Innsbruck. Thereby, he successfully applied for a publicly funded fundamental research project at the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). One article out of this project was distinguished by the research award of the principality of Liechtenstein 2013. Since August 2011, he is Visiting Professor at the Department of Management Information Systems at the University of Calgary where he established a joint research project together with Barrie Nault on the topic of Internet Business. This project was distinguished by the Canada Award for young researchers in 2013. He finished his Habailitation in March 2013 and is Associate Professor in the area Information Systems II since June 2014.

Steffen Zimmermann is author of articles in international journals such as, Decision Support Systems, DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems, and Business & Information Systems Engineering. Moreover, he presented his research at international conferences such as European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST) und International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). He serves as a reviewer (e.g. Decision Support Systems, Journal of the AIS, Information Systems Research), Associate Editor (e.g. Information Technology and ManagementICIS), Guest Editor and Track Chair (e.g. Business & Information Systems Engineering, ECIS) for international conferences.
