Curriculum Vitae

Stefan Thalmann studierte von 2002 bis 2006 Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Martin Luther Universität. Während seines Studiums war er als Praktikant bei Terra-Media und der INA SCHAEFFLER KG in der Abteilung Wissensmanagement tätig. Seine Diplomarbeit wurde mit dem “Deutschen Nachwuchspreis Wissensmanagement” als beste Diplomarbeit des Jahres 2006 in diesem Themenfeld ausgezeichnet.

Von April 2006 bis März 2007 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Wirtschaftsinformatik insb. betriebliches Informationsmanagement, Prof. Dr. Maier, der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg tätig. Seit März 2007 ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik, Produktionswirtschaft und Logistik der Universität Innsbruck tätig und leitet dort aktuell das Forschungsprojekt KnowProtect. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind unter anderem die adaptive Aufbereitung von Wissensressourcen, das Design von adaptivem Lernmaterial, Security im Cloud Computing, Knowledge Protection und Wissensmanagement im Kontext wissensintensiver Geschäftsprozesse.

Das Doktoratsstudium der Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften schloss er im April 2011 an der Universität Innsbruck ab. Seine Dissertation mit dem Titel “Decision Support Framework for Selecting Techniques to Prepare Knowledge Elements for Adaptive Use” wurde von Prof. Dr. Ronald Maier als Erstbetreuer und von Prof. Dr. Jan Pawlowski als Zweitbetreuer betreut.

Im Rahmen seiner Forschungen war er als Gastforscher am Learning Technology Research Institute der London Metropolitan University (UK) und am Information Technology Research Institute der Universität von Jyväskylä (Finnland) tätig. Als externer Lehrbeauftragter ist er an der FH Kufstein im Rahmen des Masterstudienganges „ERP-Systeme & Geschäftsprozessmanagement“ tätig und an der Freien Universität Bozen im Rahmen des Bachelorstudienganges Tourism, Sport & Event Management.
