Barbara Knoll is a research and teaching associate at the Department of Italian Law of the University of Innsbruck, Sector of Civil Law, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Francesco A. Schurr.

Ms. Knoll attended and completed the Integrated Diploma Programme in Law (Italian Law) at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Padova in Innsbruck in 2017. Her thesis covered the subject of penal responsibility of physicians.

Upon finishing the course in Italian Law in Innsbruck, Ms. Knoll then did a legal traineeship at the Law Firm “Loner, Bertacchi, Francia, Pomella” in Bolzano, Italy (2017 – 2018). During it, she also attended the Law school for the Bar Examination at the Lawyers' Association of Bolzano.

Thereafter, she successfully completed the Master of Postgraduate Specialisation for Legal Professions at the Universities of Trento and Verona – Department of Law (“Scuola di Specializzazione per le Professioni Legali”), which led to her obtaining a Master of Law (2019). For the duration of the course, she worked as an intern at the Civil sector of the Court of Trento, Italy (2018) and at the Criminal sector of the Court of Bolzano, Italy (2019).

Since July 2020, Ms. Knoll is authorized to practice law, after successfully passing the state admission examination at the Court of Appeal of Trento – External Department of Bolzano.

Ms. Knoll is also a member of the Doktoratskolleg Liechtensteinisches Recht at the University of Innsbruck and of the Editorial Board of the Law Journal Contratto e Impresa Europa.
