Forschung am Institut für Sportwissenschaft (ISW)

Das Institut für Sportwissenschaft an der Universität Innsbruck ist eine international anerkannte Forschungsstätte und beschäftigt ein multidisziplinäres Team von ExpertInnen aus den Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften. Unsere Forschung konzentriert sich darauf, die wissenschaftliche Basis rund um die Teilnahme an Sport und körperlicher Aktivität voranzutreiben, um Leistung, Gesundheit und Wohlbefinden zu verbessern.

Da sich unser Institut im Herzen der europäischen Alpen befindet, haben wir einen besonderen Fokus auf den Alpinsport. Unser multidisziplinäres Team bietet einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz für die Erforschung der Sportteilnahme. Untersucht werden unter anderem psychologische, soziologische, pädagogische und physiologische Aspekte die auf die Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen und Personen mit psychischen Erkrankungen abzielen sowie Motivation und Vorteile der Teilnahme an Outdoor-Sportarten. Außerdem beschäftigt sich unser Team mit der Weiterentwicklung von Trainingsmethoden und der Entwicklung von Ausrüstung, der biomechanischen Analyse und mathematischen Modellierung, sowie der sensomotorischen Integration und der physiologischen Anpassung des Körpers auf Umwelteinflüsse. Gleichzeitig berücksichtigen wir, dass Aktivitäten in Bergregionen kostspielig sind und somit eine umfassende Bewertung des Managements von Outdoor-Freizeitaktivitäten und die Identifizierung der damit verbundenen Risikofaktoren untersucht werden müssen.
