In addition to our German courses in the mornings, we offer leisure activities in the afternoon. Enjoy the world famous sights of the three-time host city of the Olympic Games during a guided walking tour of Innsbruck. Other enjoyable experiences can be gained by participating in excursions and outdoor group activities such as hiking, swimming in the lakes of Tirol, beach volleyball,
etc.

 

Full-day trips 

Trip to Salzburg
We will take the train early in the morning to Salzburg (duration: approx. 2 hours). The following things are planned: A guided tour of Salzburg, where we will see a lot of famous sights, such as the trick fountains at Hellbrunn Palace, the Mirabell Palace, Mozart's birth house, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the cathedral, the old town. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore Salzburg on your own. In the evening we will take the train back to Innsbruck.

 The presentation will be in German and includes many pictures.
 
Tiroler Bauernhöfe Museum in Kramsach, Swimming at Lake Reintaler See, Rattenberg
14 farms from different Tyrolean valleys were moved to the open-air museum in Kramsach. You will get an insight into the architecture of the farms as well as the living and working environment of the people at that time.  
Afterwards we will relax at the Reintaler See, which is one of the warmest lakes in Tirol.
Then, you can explore Rattenberg, the smallest town in Austria, on your own.

Cultural activities 

City tour of Innsbruck
A guided walking tour of Innsbruck at the beginning of your stay will help you to find your way around the city. You will see the sights of Innsbruck, as  well as shopping possibilities, restaurants and bars and also future meeting points for other activities. 
 
Alpine Zoo
The Alpine Zoo is Europe‘s highest zoo and features a variety of Alpine animals. We will walk up to the zoo and take a bus down.
 
Trip to Hall
There will be a guided walking tour of Hall. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore Hall on your own and take the train back as you wish.
 
Schwaz Silver Mine
The Schwaz Silver Mine is the largest of its kind from the medieval ages. After entering the 800 m deep mine we will explore the work environment of the miners. We will also learn how they mined silver and copper over 500 year ago.

Sports activities 

Hike to the Höttinger Alm
The alpine area is located in the mountains north of Innsbruck. You will have a magnificient view of the city and the surrounding mountains, as well as the Brenner valley which connects Innsbruck with Italy.
 
Hike to the Mutterer Alm 
The alpine area is located in the Stubai valley, south of Innsbruck. You will have a magnificient view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
 
Trip to Lanser See

The Lanser See is a bathing lake close to Innsbruck. It is located on a sunny plateau between Lans and Igls.

 
Hiking tour through the Wolfsklamm
The Wolfsklamm is a wildly romantic canyon with waterfalls. The hike takes about two hours.
 
Nine-pin Bowling
This is for everyone who likes to bowl, or has always wanted to try it.
 
Universitäts-Sportinstitut Innsbruck (USI)

The USI offers a variety of sports activities:

  • if the weather is nice we will play beachvolleyball, tennis or soccer outdoors
  • if the weather is bad, we will play soccer indoors, or go swimming in the indoor swimming pool
