2. COST-IOTA Workshop on Cold Molecular Ions

The IOTA-COST workshop will take place in the hotel Waldhotel National Arosa, in Arosa in the southeastern part of Switzerland.

Weather, conference hike: Arosa is located at an altitude of 1800m. At the beginning of September, peak temperatures can be anything from 10 to 25 centigrades depending on the weather. Arosa is a beautiful hiking location, and a (not too strenuous) conference hike is planned on Tuesday afternoon. Bring along suitable hiking shoes and attire if you want to participate.

How to reach Waldhotel: Waldhotel National can be reached in a 10 minutes walk from the train station. Directions can be found following this link. If you require a pick up from the train station, please contact the hotel directly.

Take the train from Zürich to·Chur where you change for Arosa. Travelling time about two and a half hour. There are trains from Zürich to Arosa every hour. Don't miss the famous Rhaetische Bahn from Chur to Arosa.

Car

Motorway up to Chur. From Chur about 45 min to Arosa.

Note:The road to Arosa will be temporarily closed on Sunday, Sept. 1, because of the Arosa Classic Car Race. The road will be open again on Monday.

Plane

From Zürich Airport (ZRH) take the next train to Zurich Main Station (Zürich HB) and change to a connecting train to Chur. At Chur train station, change to the Arosa Bahn, the narrow-track railway to Arosa. Travel from Chur to Arosa takes about 60 minutes. For detailled timetables, refer to www.sbb.ch. Train tickets to Arosa are available at the vending machines in the train stations or electronically at www.sbb.ch.

Alternatively one may land at the Friedrichshafen Airport (FDH) and take the Graubünden Express (shuttle bus) to Chur, where you catch the Arosa Bahn to Arosa.
