Due to numerous options offered by the University of Innsbruck students can deepen their knowledge within various fields of study and beyond their own subject. In addition, there are many offers for leisure time activities and career planning as well as an active student representation. 


University and State Library of Tyrol 

The University and State Library of Tyrol (ULBT), which runs at exceptionally long opening hours, contains not only general and subject-specific literature but also study and computer workspaces. Students have access to all 7 major library locations as well as to an extensive free database for journals, newspapers and magazines. More than 6 million media are easily accessible online.

 

Event calendar

in the online event calendar of the university all events are recorded allowing students to choose amongst public guest lectures, discussions, lecture series and cultural events which are taking place almost daily.

 

Language Center

The Language Center not only offers courses in German as a foreign language during the semester and intensive courses in the summer months. In addition, reasonably priced courses in more than 20 languages are offered. Furthermore, in order to improve language skills, a study buddy program is available, which links interested people with native speakers.

 

Career-Service

The Career-Service answers questions about post-graduate applications, provides information on job-fairs, and organizes lectures on job-entry.

 

Wellbeing 

Students have the opportunity to have lunch for only 4-8 € per menu in one of the canteens at 9 different university locations. The offers vary and are complemented by breakfast at some locations.

 

University Sports Institute

At the University Sports Institute (USI) around 1,000 classes are offered each year, ranging from mountaineering and trampolining to football team practice. Prices start at only 15 € for students. Volleyball and tennis courts can also be booked for private use.

 

University Choir and University Orchestra

For many years, the  University Orchestra and the Universitäty Choir have been a part of life at the University of Innsbruck. Students and staff from all faculties sing and play together and represent the University at cultural events.

 

Psychological Counseling Service

The Psychological Counseling Service is free of charge and offers help choosing a degree and in situations of exam anxiety, as well as group meetings for students about to graduate and one-on-one sessions with professional psychologists. Parts of this offer are also available in English upon request

 

Office for the Disabled

Special needs students are supported by the Office of the Disabled. The available assistance includes modified exams, adapted teaching materials and individual advice for all questions regarding your studies in Innsbruck.

 

Students’ Union

Every registered student is automatically a member of the Students’ Union (ÖH). Their offers include an online job and housing platform, legal advice for tenancy problems, and introduction and information sessions at the beginning of your studies.
