We are glad that you have chosen the University of Innsbruck for your semester / academic year abroad. You have made the perfect decision breaking out of your comfort zone to discover a new country, meet new people, get to know different teaching methods and acquire new skills. Innsbruck offers a perfect setting for your stay with its numerous sport and leisure opportunities such as Skiing, Mountain Climbing, Hiking, Rafting and Swimming in the beautiful surrounding lakes, to name just a few.

Incoming students from Asia, Australia, North- and South America who are coming in the frame of an exchange agreement can find all the necessary information on this website.

We have broken this guide up into a number of stages:

Some general Information should give you an idea about the University and Innsbruck. After being nominated you need to follow some guidelines regarding the Application and Housing procedures. For an optimal preparation we recommend you read all practical information regarding your arrival, your stay here in Innsbruck and your departure.

Please note that,

  • Erasmus students need to follow the instructions on the Erasmus Website
  • Students who apply for the International Business Program (IWW) will find all the necessary information on the website of the International Economic and Business Studies Program
  • International Degree Seeking students or students who are not coming within an exchange program need to apply for regular admission. You need to visit the website of the Admission Department for further information
