As part of his doctoral thesis in the field of literature and cultural studies with a focus on American Studies and
media, Christian Stenico received this year's Nick Müller Fellowship. The scholarship, which is provided by the state of Tyrol and
the city of Innsbruck, is awarded annually as a research grant for a year-long study visit at the University of New Orleans to complete a master's or doctoral thesis.
It is named after Gordon "Nick" Müller, who was significantly involved in the founding and development of the University Partnership UIBK-UNO. Christian Stenico is writing his dissertation entitled “Teller-Vision: Narrators in Recent American Television Series” with Prof. Christian Quendler at the Institute for American Studies at the University of Innsbruck. In New Orleans he works closely with the historian and head of the Center Austria, Dr Günter Bischof.
The scholarship is usually awarded during the opening ceremony of the UNO-Innsbruck International Summer School. Unfortunately, due to the travel restrictions caused by Covid-19, this could not take place in the last two years. City councillor Mag.a Ursula Schwarzl, therefore, presented the award certificate this year in the course of an informal handover in the Innsbruck town hall.
The Center New Orleans congratulates Christian Stenico and looks forward to further good cooperation between the
partnership offices
