IGS triumphant at Innsbruck's City Run

On the 13th of May, the members of the IGS research group competed (again) at Innsbruck's City Run - and came back with some very respectable results.

The members of Prof. Matthias Harders' research group have one essential trait in common: they all love running.

Since 2015 they compete every year at Innsbruck’s City Run and this year PhD student Fernando Zorilla came in first place in the University ranking "Men up to the age of 40". With a respectable time of 32:59,7 for 10km he furthermore achieved an excellent eight place out of 395 in the men’s overall ranking.

The two male and one mixed IGS teams competing in the relay race – “Running for honor”, “Grilled Potatoes” and “We-Run-For-Ice-Cream” – also went home with personal best times and the motivation to compete again next year.

“I am very proud of all the good results,” says Prof. Harders, who already has plans for the run in 2019. “The goal is to assemble an all-female team for next year’s University relay race.”

The institute congratulates the IGS research group on their results and wishes them all the best for next year!
