Computationally weak quantum systems and why they matter

Abstract: 

Several classes of weak quantum-computational systems have been studied. These systems make use of quantum-mechanical effects, but are nevertheless no more powerful than classical computers. I will give an overview of this sub-field of quantum computing and explain why it is important for both theory and practice.
