Curriculum Vitae

 

Vasileios Symeonidis holds a PhD in Education from both the University of Innsbruck and Eötvös Loránd University, awarded in the framework of the European Doctorate in Teacher Education (EDiTE). He studied international and comparative education at Stockholm University and primary school education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has worked as an early stage researcher through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship and undertook internships at the European Commission, CEDEFOP and Education International. His research experience is complemented by teaching in international schools in Sweden and Greece.

Research Interests

  • Teacher education policy and practice: Europeanisation in teacher education, teacher education as a professional continuum, the professionalisation of teacher educators, doctoral networks in teacher education.
  • International and comparative education: policy transfer, governance of education, education reforms, SDGs and global citizenship education, comparative case studies.
