Lourdes Rocamora

Lourdes studied Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Alicante and at the Miguel Hernandez University in Spain.  Her Diploma thesis at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology (Miguel Hernandez University) was entitled “Search and identification of genes involved in apoptosis resistance in human leukaemia cells with Multidrug Resistance phenotype”. She holds a PhD on Molecular Biology and Biochemistry for her work “Effect of differentiating agents and natural and synthetic compounds on human tumor cell lines”. After that, Lourdes started her postdoc period at the Medical University of Innsbruck in the Developmental Immunology Division working on the role of Glucocorticoids in Lymphocytes, with a special focus on murine T cells. In addition, she investigated the modulation of BCL-2- family proteins in human breast cancer. Since summer 2020, Lourdes is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Biomedical Aging Research in Dr. Weinberger’s group where she is investigating the role of regulatory T cells in aging processes.
