In a 5 years project starting 2013, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research will fund the interdisciplinary PhD program "The aging of biological communication systems", in which the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck and the Innsbruck Medical University will participate ("Hochschulraum-Strukturmittel, BGBI. II Nr. 292/2012"). The PhD program "Aging" is co-ordinated by Professor Beatrix Grubeck-Loebenstein (Institute for Biomedical Aging Research, University of Innsbruck) and Dr. Barbara Rantner (Department of Vascular Surgery, Innsbruck Medical University).
