Funding of public health program
A new collaboration between the Tyrolean Public Health Agency "Landessanitätsdirektion" and the Immunology Group of the IBA has been funded by the EU network program ADITEC. The topic of the collaboration is the question, whether elderly people with low protection against diphtheria also have a low response to conjugated pneumococcal vaccines, which contain diphtheria toxoid as a carrier. The principal investigator at the IBA is Dr. Birgit Weinberger.
