Alexander Weiss

Mag. Dr. Alexander Weiss was born May 27th, 1986 near Innsbruck (Tyrol, Austria). After his studies of chemistry at the University of Innsbruck, he obtained his magister and doctor degrees in Theoretical Chemistry, working on numerical models and statistics in terms of computer aided simulations and quantum mechanics (www.akhw.at). Shifting his interest on laboratory work he joined the group of Pidder Jansen-Dürr at IBA in 2015, now focused on the enzymatic characterization of FAH superfamily members, in terms of in vitro and in vivo assays, protein purification and crystallization, and computer aided simulation. He is the author of a free quantum chemical software (https://sourceforge.net/projects/qumulus/), however, which has now become a hobby rather than a profession.
