William Olson

William Olson

William is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Innsbruck, Institute for Biomedical Aging Research. Originally from the United States of America, he received a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He later moved to Austria to pursue a Ph.D. in Immunology at the Medical University of Innsbruck, which he completed in 2019. William’s research interests revolve around how the complex molecular machinery of immune cells, allow these cells to properly perform the immunological functions required of them. His current work in the lab of Emmanuel Derudder focuses on how micro-RNAs effect B cell gene regulation, including roles in development, differentiation and function, along with how aging may alter these processes.
