Research Programme

The Innsbruck Doctoral College features investigations of the transformation of gender and gender relations in their historical, spatial and reciprocal relationships, conditions and effects. The programme focuses on processes of change, regimes of change and their persistence, including the social struggles and civil society protest constellations that trigger, hinder, mobilize or moderate change. An interdisciplinary, intersectional and transnational/transregional perspective of analysis is essential for this research undertaking.

Target group

The Innsbruck Doctoral College is aimed at doctoral candidates with a relevant master's degree with a focus on gender studies in one of the subjects represented in the college or related to it, e.g. architecture, educational science, gender studies, German studies, history, business administration/management, economics, political science, Romance studies, sociology. 

Cooperation with InterGender

The Innsbruck Doctoral College is full partner with InterGender, an international consortium to promote echange and quality of doctoral research in Gender Studies. Doctoral students in Gender Studies can take part in the large scale research training programme of InterGender.
