Neue Beobachtungen über das Rhät der Lombardischen Fazies in der südlichen Brenta Gruppe, Provinz Trient/Norditalien (Ein Beitrag zur Rhät/Lias Grenze)

GPM 1, 8, p. 1–29

The inferior Rhaetian charactericed by the Avicula contorta-horizon in the western part of the southern Brenta Mountains (Stenieo-Tione) is partly rich in fossils and has quite strong terrigen influences increasing from bottom to top. Towards the east the delivery of terrigen material deminishes more and more. There are supposed to be two different sediment-areas.
In the west there is a more lagoon-like deposition-area with terrigenous influence, accumulation of shells and sessil foraminifers. In the east, on the contrary, the terrigenous material is receding intensely, sedimentation of limestones is increasing, therefore this area represents an open sedimentai basin. For the Upper Rhaetian appears the Lithodendron-Lime-Niveau and the Boundary-Dolomit. The profile of Iimaro makes it possible, because of the different lithofacial shapes and the occurrence of foraminifers Involutinidae to draw out approximately a line between Rhaetian and Liassic.
It does not seem to exist an own shape of the Rhät in that region (as the Veneto Facies), but the Lombardian Facies overlaps from the. Western to the eastern part of the Synclinale Nonsberg - Molveno - Stenico - Lake of Garda.
