Long title:

Project duration: 01.09.2013 - 29.02.2016

Abstract:

Within the project, a worldwide applicable monitoring tool for the detection of alpine processes, based on Plèiades stereo satellite imagery, is developed. Furthermore, a quality assessment will be established by a direct comparison to ALS surface models, as this technology is established within environmental tasks. The resulting process map can be used to develop adaptation strategies in our changing environment.

The project aims at a multitemporal detection and quantification of gravitational and cryogenic processes in high mountain environments (Ötztal and Ortles Alpes, South Tyrol), based on very high resolution Digital Surface Models and georeferenced images based in Pléiades Tri-Stereo Satellite data.
