Preamble

Law and medicine is one of the core research fields of the University of Innsbruck. The Faculty of Law is therefore happy to be able to host the "Summer ELSA Law School on Medical and Health Law” for the first time this summer, from the 30th of  June to the 7th of July 2019.

Approximately 30 national and international students will have the chance to intensively study various medical and health law topics going beyond what they would normally hear in line with their law studies.

The "Summer ELSA Law School on Medical and Health Law" is organised jointly by the Law Faculty as well as the European Law Students' Association (ELSA) Innsbruck.

The "Summer ELSA Law School on Medical and Health Law" is internationally orientated. This is demonstrated by the fact that the lecturers are nationally and internationally renowned experts from Austria, but also from other jurisdictions. Another focus of the Summer School is its practical orientation: Not only is the legal situation presented, but the lectures always stay close to practical reality. This is one the one hand guaranteed by the fact that the lecturers are also experienced practitioners, on the other hand by the accompanying excursions and workshops.

Next to this academic programme the "Summer ELSA Law School on Medical and Health Law" offers a colourful supporting programme. The participants will have the opportunity to make contacts for their future professional life as well as to explore Innsbruck and its beautiful alpine setting.
