STATISTICS AUSTRIA Survey on Research and Development

Following a regulation of the Minister of Science and Research from 2008 STATISTICS AUSTRIA, the Austrian statistical office, was mandated with conducting statistical surveys on research and experimental development (R&D) in all economic sectors on a biannual basis. The purpose of the survey is to collect data on research and experimental development of Austrian universities as well as to gather information on processes in administration, teaching and vocational training activities. Using seven tables the survey collects data concerning the fields of activity, projects and main research focuses of each survey unit as well as information concerning expenditures, sponsors and personnel.

The research information unit coordinates the completion of the survey at the University of Innsbruck. Together with members of other administrative units the research information unit carries out the pre-filling of survey questions and the transferal of the data into the Statistics Austria Web tool and assists the institutes during the correction process.
