Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot 2021/2022

The annual Vis Moot is one of the most prestigious international competitions for law students with over 350 universities from more than 85 countries participating. It is a simulation of international commercial arbitration proceedings, where students submit written memoranda and plead before an arbitral tribunal just as real-life counsel do. The case file, referred to as „the problem“, entails relevant legal issues relating to the international sale of goods as well as international procedure.

The competition starts in early October 2021 with the distribution of the problem. In the following three months you and your team members will have to prepare one written memorandum on behalf of claimant and one on behalf of respondent. January and February 2022 will be dedicated to preparing the oral hearings. The oral pleading rounds in front of a panel of expert arbitrators are scheduled for the Easter week 2022 in Vienna. They will be accompanied by numerous networking events organized by renowned (international) law firms. For more information visit https://www.vismoot.org/.
